About Awaaz Leadership Labs

Awaaz Leadership Labs is a design lab which enables law students and young legal professionals to drive ideas advancing social justice. At Awaaz, we envision a world where every individual has equitable access to justice and the pursuit of improving the access to justice ecosystem calls for collective action from all stakeholders in law, justice, and allied fields. We pursue this through thematic specific interventions, activating legal aid societies in law schools, and conducting experiential learning programs such as Soch Fellowship and Justice Innovation 101.

These programs enable us to identify and support young leaders and founders who are developing innovative justice solutions. We enable these youngsters who are innovating justice solutions and creating bridges between legal rights and practical application in different communities through guidance in community outreach, volunteer mobilisation, impactful storytelling, building legal aid networks, and sustainable fundraising strategies. Our approach engages with creative pedagogies in capacity building and nurturing a community of changemakers. We believe that a thriving community of more sensitive and rights-conscious law students / young lawyers engaging in justice initiatives can transform the Access to Justice systems. Awaaz is built with law students and co-designed by them, reflecting our commitment to enabling the next generation of justice leaders.

Our earlier projects include publishing India's first Regional Language Citation Standards in 12 Indian languages, to ensure equal access to legal and academic resources. Building on our experience of involving law professionals and students, we released prominent Supreme Court Judgments in 5 Indian Languages with Manupatra and Justice Adda and India Justice Report in 3 languages.

It was created for the Madhav Menon Leadership Foundation, a section 8 Not-for-Profit Organisation that was established in 2022 by tradename Awaaz Leadership Labs.
